Learn from our AWS Certified Welding Instructor, Wayne, on the most recent techniques. All OSR welders are certified in Arc Welding GMAW, FCAW< SMAW, GTAW all positions most materials.

Upon completion of the fabricator (welding) apprenticeship, a fabrication shop technician is capable of fabricating new and restoring damaged steel structures, equipment and machinery which involves welding and bolted assembly work processes. The technician will possess strong knowledge and skills in the areas of blueprint reading/sketching, lay-outing, thermal cutting, plate roll forming, bending, fabrication fit-up and alignment, boring and punching, materials handling and welding. Other skills that will be mastered include operation of press brakes, plate and angle rollers, shears, band saws, drill presses, overhead cranes, forklifts and other machinery related to steel fabrication and erection. In addition, an expertise in pipefitting, rigging, testing and stress relief of welded assembly as well as a working knowledge in numerical control, CNC, electricity and bench working practices.
